The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce presented the W. Curtis Strube Small Business of the Year 2006 award to Amberg.
Amberg Entertainment was selected from four other finalists: PaperWise, Family Pharmacy on Plainview Road, 417 Magazine and Springfield Office Supply.
Amberg Entertainment was chosen based on its responses to questions in five content areas: company history, business or management philosophy, response to challenges, innovative products or services offered and community-oriented contributions.
“Anyone who looks at the history of the company can see they’ve had pretty impressive growth,” said Jennifer Johnson, economic development coordinator for the chamber.
Since opening in 1996, the event-planning and entertainment-booking company has added several new divisions and offices in Denver and Bentonville, Ark. Amberg told SBJ in April that he expects to do more than 1,500 events this year.
Amberg Entertainment also was an award finalist in 2004.
The 2005 recipient of the award was Candy House Gourmet Chocolates.
The luncheon was held as part of Springfield’s Small Business Week, through May 6. (Click here for a complete list of events.)[[In-content Ad]]
