Whether she literally uses a drill and hammer to achieve results or applies her unique view on professional development, Michal Moss Early’s passion is building up people.
As the business development and marketing officer at Metropolitan National Bank, Early works to redefine the culture and image of the community bank she joined in March.
“Early in my career, I was blessed to have a great mentor who invested in me and my success in a profession where co-workers are all too often seen as competitors,” Early says. “This influence has impassioned me to actively mentor and invest in the success of young businesswomen in the Springfield community.”
Early’s involvement with Habitat for Humanity reveals her passion for the development of the community.
“I have had the honor of serving on two boards for Habitat in southwest Missouri,” Early says. “Both have provided some of the greatest opportunities and most satisfying moments in my life.”
Early serves on the Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity executive board, and she helped plan and develop a strategy for opening the Joplin Area Habitat for Humanity Restore.
“The duties of a board member extend far beyond the board room,” Early says. “Every day I have the opportunity to educate fellow team members and others about the organizations I’m involved with. That is one of the greatest privileges I have.”
Early joined Arvest Bank in her hometown of Joplin in 1999 as a financial services representative and worked her way up to client adviser/investment representative before making the move to Springfield in 2007 as a private banking manager. She helped Arvest launch its brand and first branch in the Springfield market.
“Exhibiting an attitude of servant leadership and creative problem solving has allowed me to launch and introduce a new banking institution to the Springfield community, establish a business division committed to help rebuild Joplin, and now work to redefine the culture and image of a community bank,” Early says. “Creating a strong and professional team culture has allowed me to brand, market and successfully develop meaningful business relationships.”
Early also serves on the Executive Board of Champions Committed to Kids, an organization that pairs children living with a disability or illness with local athletic teams.
