CVS Health Corp., the second-largest U.S. drugstore operator, announced today it will buy pharmacy services provider Omnicare Inc. for $10.1 billion to expand in the market serving the elderly.
Including debt of around $2.3 billion, the deal values Omnicare at about $12.7 billion, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
St. Louis County-based Express Scripts, the nation's largest pharmacy benefit manager, reportedly also was considering a purchase of Omnicare.
