Four area companies make 2010 Inc. 5000

Four Springfield area companies are listed on Inc. magazine's 2010 Inc. 5000, which ranks privately held companies according to three-year percentage revenue growth.

The annual list was released Aug. 24 and will be published in the magazine's September issue.

Three Springfield companies - JMark Business Solutions, Altec Solutions Group and Marlin Network - and one Neosho company - Branco Enterprises - made the list.

JMark Business Solutions, an information technology services company, is the highest local firm on the national list at No. 1,835. JMark recorded a three-year growth rate of 149 percent - its 2009 revenue was $4.7 million and its 2006 revenue was $1.9 million.

Computer hardware company Altec Solutions Group, which had a 49 percent three-year growth rate, is listed at No. 3,509. Altec made $2 million in revenue in 2009, compared to $1.3 million in 2006.

Construction firm Branco Enterprises, which had a 29 percent three-year growth rate, is ranked No. 4,111. It posted 2009 revenue of $70.4 million and 2006 revenue of $54.3 million. Branco has held a spot on the Inc. list since 2007; its highest rank was 2,722 in 2009.

Advertising and marketing company Marlin Network ranks at No. 4,204. Marlin had a three-year growth rate of 26 percent, resulting from its 2009 revenue of $7.4 million and its 2006 revenue of $5.8 million.

JMark, Altec and Marlin are newcomers to the Inc. 5000 this year.

There are 60 Missouri-based companies on the list, including Kansas City-based law firm Lathrop & Gage, which has a presence in Springfield.

Lathrop & Gage ranks at No. 4,380. The company had a three-year growth rate of 21 percent, with 2009 revenue of $121 million and 2006 revenue of $99.5 million. Lathrop & Gage wasn't listed in 2009.
