BKD Wealth Advisors moves on Chicago acquisition

Posted online
Following a strategic move by Springfield-based accounting firm BKD LLP to expand its Chicagoland reach, subsidiary BKD Wealth Advisors LLC has followed suit.

Wolf Financial Management joined BKD Wealth Advisors. The Chicago-based wealth management firm is part of Wolf & Co., which was acquired by BKD as of Nov. 1, according to a news release.

Including eight employees in the Chicago office, BKD Wealth Advisors now has eight offices in six states with roughly 60 personnel.

BKD Wealth Advisors President Jack Thurman said the firm saw the opportunity to join with Wolf Financial as culturally and geographically beneficial.

“Our core values and wealth management philosophy align with those of Wolf Financial Management,” he said in the release. “We believe this combination will help us provide new and existing clients with the same high-quality experience they have come to expect.”

According to Springfield Business Journal archives, the 2,000-client Wolf & Co. was listed by Crain’s Chicago Business as the 15th largest accounting firm in the Chicago area.

Accounting firm BKD’s annual revenue sits at $475 million with 34 offices in 15 primarily Midwestern states. In August, BKD ranked No. 12 in the country on Inside Public Accounting’s Top 100 accounting firms list, based on $445.3 million in fiscal 2014 revenue. The firm’s tally is up 6.5 percent from last year, according to SBJ archives.[[In-content Ad]]
