Communications firm investing $5M on call center, jobs

Springfield-based telemarketing firm Communication Solutions LLC this morning broke ground on a planned 30,000-square-foot customer service and call center at 2645 W. Sunshine St.

Director of Business Development Bryan Williams said the company is planning a capital investment of roughly $5 million, and it would be hiring 100 new sales and customer service employees. The hirings would bring the employee count for the firm - which also operates a Joplin office - to 900, he said.

Williams said Communications Solutions will continue to operate its 25,000-square-foot headquarters at 310 S. Ingram Mill Road.

The land at Sunshine Street and Scenic Avenue has been cleared for general contractor Heritage Construction Co. of Highlandville. Williams said design work was performed by Springfield firm Erdmann Street Architecture & Planning Inc.

"We wanted to be a part of the rejuvenation of this section of Sunshine," Williams said. "This part of town is growing and getting nicer."

The company is planning to start hiring for the new positions in the fourth quarter, and it expects the new facility to be completed in the first quarter of 2013.

Communications Solutions provides business-to-consumer and business-to-business telemarketing services, such as customer acquisition and customer service, according to its Web site.[[In-content Ad]]
