Covington Holdings Inc., dba Ashley Furniture HomeStore, took home the top rank last night at Springfield Business Journal's ninth annual Dynamic Dozen Awards at Doubletree Hotel.
Chad Harris, account supervisor for The Marlin Co. and founder of satirical newspaper Fair City News, was the emcee for the event, which brought in roughly 250 guests, the most in the event's history.
The companies were chosen based on revenue and percentage growth using a formula with results verified by business faculty at Ozarks Technical Community College.
Covington Holdings, owned by Andrew Covington, recorded 2011 revenues of roughly $23.8 million and 2009-11 revenue growth of 118 percent.
The honorees, listed by rank, 2011 revenues and 2009-11 revenue growth percentage were:
- No. 2, Springfield First Community Bank, 2011 revenues of $9.97 million with three-year revenue growth of 149 percent;
- No. 3, Jack Henry & Associates Inc., 2011 revenues of $966.9 million with three-year revenue growth of 30 percent;
- No. 4, Penmac Staffing Services Inc., 2011 revenues of $89.5 million with three-year revenue growth of 60 percent;
- No. 5, SRC Automotive Inc., 2011 revenues of $48.34 million with three-year revenue growth of 53 percent;
- No. 6, Citizens Memorial Healthcare, 2011 revenues of $279.4 million with three-year revenue growth of 30 percent;
- No. 7, Intuitive Web Solutions LLC, 2011 revenues of $3 million with three-year revenue growth of 149 percent;
- No. 8, Red Monkey Foods, 2011 revenues of $7.63 million with three-year revenue growth of 121 percent;
- No. 9, CoxHealth, 2011 revenues of $2.26 billion with three-year revenue growth of 16 percent;
- No. 10, ECS, 2011 revenues of $81.1 million with three-year revenue growth of 54 percent;
- No. 11, Burrito Concepts LLC, 2011 revenues of $10.1 million with three-year revenue growth of 33 percent; and
- No. 12, S&H Farm Supply, 2011 revenues of $49 million with three-year revenue growth of 19 percent.
For the first time in the history of the event, three individual awards were given to area executives, chosen by an independent panel of judges.
Rodney Jetton, marketing director of Schultz & Summers Engineering Inc., was named Top Local Sales & Marketing Executive; Mike Finch, associate general manager-finance and chief financial officer for City Utilities of Springfield was named Top Local Financial Officer; and Steven Brady, CEO and chairman of the board for Anderson Engineering Inc., was named Top Local Executive.[[In-content Ad]]
