Monett-based technology firm Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY) produced net income of $201.1 million for its fiscal year ended June 30, a 14 percent increase compared to earnings of $176.6 million in fiscal 2013.

The company posted diluted share earnings of $2.34 for the 12-month period, a 32-cent uptick compared to the prior fiscal year, according to a news release.

Contributing to the bottom line bump was an increase in revenue, which rose 7 percent to $1.2 billion from $1.1 billion in fiscal 2013. The fourth quarter added $310.9 million in revenue, a 4 percent jump from $298.1 million in the same quarter a year earlier.

"We are very pleased to announce record revenue for both the fourth quarter and fiscal year, as well as record earnings for the full fiscal year. We delivered a balanced performance that benefitted our shareholders, customers and employees," Jack Henry CEO Jack Prim said in the release.

Fiscal 2014 financial notes:
  • Jack Henry's fourth-quarter net income rose 6 percent to $50.6 million, or 60 cents per diluted share, from $47.7 million, or 55 cents per diluted share, in the same quarter a year earlier.
  • Cost of sales for the year increased 6 percent to $691.4 million from $652.4 million in fiscal 2013.
  • The company's support and services line of revenue, which made up 91 percent of total revenue during the year, rose 8 percent to $1.1 billion from $1 billion.
Jack Henry constructs integrated computer systems and processes ATM and debit card transactions for banks and credit unions, with some 11,300 customers nationwide. As of June 30, the company's assets were $1.6 billion, according to the release.

JKHY shares were trading at $56.62 as of 9:05 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $49.08 to $60.84.[[In-content Ad]]
