Salon distributor plans $4.2M capital investment

Springfield beauty products distributor Salon Service Group Inc. plans to inject a $4.2 million capital investment into the local economy as it builds its new headquarters.

Salon Service Group, which sells beauty products to salons in a 10-state region, is building a 45,000-square-foot facility at 1520 E. Evergreen St.

The new facility would add 11 new jobs to the company's current workforce of 140, according to a news release from the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

Chamber economic development staff has worked to bring access to state and local incentives for the company's new corporate office and distribution center. According to the Missouri Department of Economic Development, the incentives can be reached if job creation and investment criteria are met.

According to Springfield Business Journal archives. Larry Snyder & Co. is serving as general contractor on the project, with architecture work by Buxton-Kubik-Dodd Inc. The project is expected to be complete by spring 2014.[[In-content Ad]]
