Mission Statement:
As the Sisters of Mercy before us, we bring to life the healing ministry of Jesus through our compassionate care and exceptional service. The mission statement of Mercy is an inspiring reminder of our calling. It also unites and directs activities across our entire health and human service ministry.

Funding:
Mercy Health Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. We rely on gifts of support from individuals, corporations, and foundations to help Mercy meet the heath care needs of Springfield and its surrounding communities. A gift to our Advancing Care Together campaign supports increased specialty care, lifesaving medical equipment, advanced telemedicine capabilities, and capital improvements.
12-month Goals:
Philanthropy is as integral to Mercy’s fabric as our highly skilled health care providers and cutting-edge technology. We reinvest our earnings in the communities we serve, focusing our services on the entire spectrum of health care. Our goal for fiscal year 2015 is to raise $6.5 million.
Annual Events:
Launched in 1979, the Mercy Sunshine Run includes three events: 10K, 5K, and 1-Mile walk/run. This year we celebrate 25 years and will have Olympian and Springfield native, Emily Scott. The event will also include a pancake breakfast provided by Chris Cakes. Beneficiaries are Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, Mercy Burn Unit, Mercy Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Services, and Champion Athletes of the Ozarks. The Mercy Pro-Am, part of the Price Cutter Charity Golf Championship, benefits Mercy Children’s Hospital. Event, team, and hole sponsorships are available. Mercy’s Vision of Excellence Series - First to Know is a quarterly luncheon intended to educate area leaders about medical developments and trends impacting communities we serve.
How People & Businesses Can Help:
We have a variety of event title and race sponsorship opportunities available as well as naming opportunities in Mercy Children’s Hospital and the Mercy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Sunshine Run volunteers secure race routes, assist with registration and event set-up and tear down. Mercy’s Pro-Am volunteers enjoy a great day of golf on the beautiful Hickory Hills fairways.
Testimonial:
“Mercy Health Foundation endeavors to extend the mission to those who are especially in need of healing, preventative care, and ending generational cycles of poor health.”
