Mission Statement:

Youth of the Ozarks (YOTO), Inc. is dedicated to the principles of recycling, reducing & reusing. YOTO makes efficient use of the items they are given. YOTO shares distributions after expenses with local children’s charities like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, Cents of Pride and Wish I May.

Service Area:

The City of Springfield and its immediate Metro Population.

Funding:

95% through the sale of donated items that we sell through our thrift operation.

12-month Goals:

1.) Find bulk buyers for ALL of the recycled items we generate.

2) To renovate the front of our store (i.e. our ‘curb’ appeal) with ‘improvement grants

3) To open a ‘boutique’ inside of our store featuring unique crafts made from repurposed donations.

Annual Events:

We are looking to create collection days of particular items. A bi-annual collection of electronic and E-Waste is our first project. We are looking into co-creating other fundraisers with our proceeds beneficiaries.

How People & Businesses Can Help:

Our greatest help comes from via referrals and ‘word of mouth’ from customers and friends to donate to our store. 100% of our shared proceeds stay local. Not every thrift store can make this claim. People & businesses who donate to our operation can claim a write-off with the IRS.

Volunteer Opportunities:

We welcome businesses, youth groups, other charities to assist us with various projects like inventory, building beautification and collection days.

Testimonials:

“The folks at YOTO Community Thrift Store are amazing. They literally use every donation that comes their way to help children in the Ozarks. If you send something their way or make a purchase from the store, you can rest assured that you are making an impact”

–Tyler Moles, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks
