Mission Statement:

Our vision is that every person and family in the Ozarks region faced with an end of life illness would be aware of and have access to dignity, comfort and compassion in an environment of their choice.

Our mission is to seek out and fund projects and programs which promote the ideals and principles of hospice care to the citizens of southwest Missouri.

Service Area:

Primarily Southwest Missouri.

Funding:

The Hospice Foundation of the Ozarks is supported entirely by private donations.

12-month Goal:

The Hospice Foundation will focus its efforts on education in end of life this year. It kicks off its efforts in this area by funding the newly written and produced EDNA curriculum by Missouri Hospice and Palliative Care Association.

EDNA stands for End of Life Education Nursing Assistant. The effort will provide for the creation and development of an online education course for nurse assistants.

The nurse assistant provides an estimated 90% of the hands-on, long term personal care received by hospice patients. However, less than 1% of hours for nurse assistant certification is in the area of end of life care. This program allows us to meet our goal of improved education and healthcare at the end of life.

How People & Businesses Can Help:

We welcome donations to support program and operational costs.  Other giving opportunities include memorial gifts and bequests.

Volunteer Opportunities:
