MSU Graduate College dean to change positions

Posted online
Frank Einhellig, who has been the dean of the Missouri State University Graduate College since 1992, is set to become the associate vice president for research at the university, effective July 1.

In his new role, Einhellig will manage the office of sponsored research, the office of research compliance and several faculty initiative programs including faculty research grants, according to a news release.

"With his experience and passion, Einhellig will be very effective in this role and we look forward to having him," Jim Baker, MSU vice president for research and economic development, said in the release. "In short, through this consolidation, Einhellig will help shape the research agenda at the university."

Einhellig also will address two areas in the school's long-range plan: engaged inquiry and partners for progress.

Engaged inquiry focuses on scholarly activity and external funding for projects and partners for progress works with Jordan Valley Innovation Center, the IDEA Commons and other collaborative efforts between the university and Springfield, the Ozarks and Missouri, the release said.

An interim graduate dean of the MSU Graduate College will be appointed later this spring, and the search for a permanent dean will occur sometime in the 2011-12 school year.[[In-content Ad]]
