Jordan Valley Community Health Center broke ground Jan. 22 on its new Hollister clinic, a $2.7 million project expected to be completed in June.
Branco Enterprises Inc. is general contractor for the 10,000-square-foot patient care center, 33 Gage Drive, which would provide medical, dental and behavioral health services, said Jordan Valley spokeswoman Shannon Tidwell.
The Springfield-based community health care provider has leased a nearly 2,000-square-foot brick-and-mortar clinic in Hollister at 590 Birch St. from CoxHealth since January 2014. It provided services through school-based mobile units for about five years prior to that, Tidwell said.
“We have seen ongoing growth that warrants this expansion of services,” Jordan Valley President and CEO Brooks Miller said in a news release. “Upon completion of construction, our patients will have even greater access to the care they need.”
In addition to its downtown Springfield clinic and Hollister, Jordan Valley also operates in Marshfield, Republic and Forsyth.
The new Hollister clinic, a former Jiffy Lube, is less than a mile’s drive from its current site. Tidwell said Branco is adding on to the existing building, which Jordan Valley purchased in March 2014 from CWP West Corp. for an undisclosed amount.
The organization currently employs 10 in Hollister and would likely hire additional employees for the new clinic, Tidwell said.
Both centers are near the city’s U.S. Highway 65 interchange at Industrial Park Drive, a high-development area. Eau Claire, Wis.-based home improvement retailer Menard Inc. is planning a store there, and La Quinta Inn & Suites recently announced plans for a 94-room, four-story hotel at the interchange, according to
