In addition, McKesson matches employee’s charitable donations, reimbursement for any continuing education and has an employee mentoring program. Other benefits include adoption and transportation assistance, scholarship assistance for employee children and personalized wellness programs

“McKesson provides career development opportunities for employees and utilizes a centralized learning hub with both instructor-led and web-based training. What innovative ways have you developed to reward employees?
“Our Vitality wellness program offers a comprehensive personalized plan that rewards employees for healthy actions. Participating employees enjoy discounts on fitness memberships, reduced monthly medical premiums and the ability to purchase items at the online Vitality mall using points earned for healthy lifestyle choices, such as the no-smoking commitment. In addition to personal rewards, McKesson also matches employee donations to charitable organizations, and the McKesson Foundation works on a national level to support a variety of health care initiatives.”

What is the most celebrated benefit/perk among your staff?
“In addition to McKesson’s corporate benefits, popular perks in the Springfield office include free coffee and soda, popcorn on Fridays, a dress code that permits jeans daily, and several annual social events that include family members.”

To what extent does the company share its financials with the staff?
“McKesson is a publicly traded company. Upon announcing earnings each quarter, our senior leadership spend a great deal of time sharing this information with employees through quarterly business updates, video meetings, email updates and internal publications. With our employee stock purchase plan, many employees also are investors and are keen to know how the company is doing.”
