Community Foundation of the Ozarks has offered $100,000 in matching grants to 18 Springfield-area nonprofits.
Under the terms of the grant offers, the organizations must raise an equivalent amount by Feb. 2, according to a news release. The grants are being awarded to address red-flag issues in the community identified in the
2013 Community Focus Report for Springfield-Greene County, including poverty and child abuse and neglect.
CFO offered $6,000 to 15 organizations:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks;
- Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri;
- Child Advocacy Center;
- Christian Support Center;
- Consumer Credit Counseling Service;
- Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southwest Missouri;
- Family Violence Center;
- Good Samaritan Boys Ranch;
- Great Circle;
- Missouri College Advising Corps;
- Pregnancy Care Center;
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks Inc.;
- The Doula Foundation of Mid-America;
- The Kitchen Inc.; and
- The Victim Center.
Boy Scouts of America’s Ozarks Trails Council and Ozarks Regional YMCA have a matching grant of $3,750 apiece available, while Council of Churches of the Ozarks’ Safe to Sleep program can receive $2,500, according to the release.[[In-content Ad]]
