Mo. home sales drop, prices rise

Posted online
Show-Me State real estate agents sold fewer homes in January, while the average sales price moved up, according to the Missouri Association of Realtors.

Last month, 3,550 homes sold, down 2.4 percent from 3,639 in January 2014, according to a news release.

However, sold homes spent three fewer days on the market - at 134 - and averaged $154,543 in price, a 5 percent boost from $147,206 a year earlier.

During January, the total sales volume hit $548 million, a 2.4 percent bump from the same month in 2014.

“With solid home sales, healthy price appreciation and a reduction in time on market, the current state of the Missouri real estate shows continued recovery with favorable conditions for both buyers and sellers,” MAR officials wrote in the release.[[In-content Ad]]
