Andy B's seeks 70 new employees in advance of expansion opening

Andy B’s Entertainment Center officials are seeking to hire 70 new employees as the former Battlefield Lanes expands its concept.

Andy B’s and Bartholomy Bowling Centers spokeswoman Mary Guccione said via email the center, which currently employs 25, is pursuing the additional employees in advance of a Feb. 23 targeted opening date and a grand opening in the spring.

The roughly $4.4 million expansion adds 6,000 square feet and wholesale changes, including 21 traditional bowling lanes each with food and beverage service; 10 lanes of “VIB luxury bowling” for public and private groups with new scoring software, music and full bar and service on the lanes; 2,700 square feet underground for up to 20 laser tag players in a “flooded mine” design; a game room and prize center; full-scale restaurant and bar with catering service; and corporate meeting and party rooms downstairs.

Bartholomy Bowling held a job fair Jan. 22 at the 1127 E. Battlefield Road center, where nearly 300 attended, 232 were interviewed and another 60 took applications but didn’t wait to be interviewed, Guccione said. As of mid-day yesterday, the company hired three new employees, and she said 10 to 12 positions were immediately needed: bowling attendants, party hosts, technicians and janitors.

Guccione said Bartholomy Bowling plans to conduct 60 second-round interviews through Feb. 8 and start training Feb. 9. A second job fair is scheduled 1-5 p.m. Feb. 7 at the center, she said.[[In-content Ad]]
