Springfield foreclosures fall

The Springfield foreclosure rate among outstanding mortgage loans totaled 0.4 percent in July, according to real estate market tracker CoreLogic.
That’s flat from June but down 0.07 percentage points from July 2014. Springfield’s July rate was the lowest so far this year, according to a news release.
The Missouri foreclosure rate dropped to 0.56 percent in July compared to 0.64 percent in the same month a year earlier. The U.S. rate fell to 1.26 percent from 1.67 percent.
In July, Springfield’s mortgage delinquency rate - a precursor to foreclosures defined as loans at least 90 days delinquent - dropped to 1.7 percent from 2.1 percent a year earlier. Missouri’s moved down to 2.6 percent from 3.1 percent, while the U.S. rate dropped to 3.5 percent from 4.3 percent, according to the release.
