Springfield-based O’Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) continued to inch upward on the Fortune 500, coming in at No. 390 on the 2014 list released this week.
O’Reilly Automotive’s
rank is 22 spots ahead of the 2013 list. The auto parts seller cracked into Fortune’s annual list of the country’s largest corporations
in 2010 at No. 429.
With $6.65 billion in 2013 revenue and $670 million in profits, O’Reilly again ranks No. 8 among Missouri's 10 Fortune 500 companies:
- Express Scripts Holding, No. 20;
- Emerson Electric Co., 121;
- Monsanto Co., 197;
- Centene Corp., 251;
- Reinsurance Group of America Inc., 274;
- Peabody Energy Corp., 365;
- Ameren Corp., 379;
- O’Reilly Automotive Inc., 390;
- The Jones Financial Cos. LLLP, 444; and
- Graybar Electric Co. Inc., 449.
Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) retained the top spot this year, again edging out Exxon Mobil (NYSE: XOM). Rounding out the top five are Chevron Corp. (NYSE: CVX), Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BKR.B) and Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL).
O’Reilly shares were trading at $149.27 as of 9:16 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $107.80 to $155.94 per share.
According to the Fortune list, O’Reilly is in the same playing field as Dillard’s Inc. (No. 386), Casey’s General Stores Inc. (389) and Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. (392).[[In-content Ad]]
