Fifth-annual Men of the Year awards to honor 20

The fifth-annual class of Springfield Business Journal’s Men of the Year has been chosen by an independent panel of judges, and the 20 men will be honored at an August luncheon.

The award recognizes the professional, philanthropic and civic contributions of men from across southwest Missouri.

The 2015 Men of the Year honorees are: Shaun Burke, Guaranty Bank; Greg Burris, city of Springfield; Christopher Craig, Missouri State University; Sam M. Coryell, TLC Properties; Brad Crain, Arvest Bank; Bernie Dana, Evangel University; Tom Fowler, State Bank of Southwest Missouri; Jay Guffey, Mercy Hospital Springfield; Mark Harrington, Old Missouri Bank and JamesMark Bancshares Inc.; Scott Hill, Springfield Police Department; Judge Calvin Holden, state of Missouri; Jeff Jochems, Ozarks Technical Community College; David Liss, Nixa Public Schools; Martin Mac Donald, Bass Pro Shops; Tim Massey, Penmac Staffing Services Inc.; Jeff Shore, BRS CPAs; Dean Thompson, City Utilities; Clay Trautman, Simmons First National Bank; Dee Wampler, Law Offices of Dee Wampler and Joseph Passanise PC; and Dean Young, Heim, Young & Associates Inc.

The Men of the Year luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 21 in the White River Conference Center, 600 W. Sunshine St. Tickets are $38 apiece and can be purchased at SBJ.net/MOTY.

SBJ has again partnered with Brighton-based nonprofit Good Samaritan Boys Ranch for the Men of the Year event in an effort to raise money and help provide a safe and caring home for boys who have come from broken or nonexistent homes.
