During last night's Board of Aldermen meeting, Branson officials announced the appointment of a new city administrator.
One of two finalists for the job, Bill Malinen most recently worked as city manager for the city of Roseville, Minn., a suburb of Minneapolis. His duties in Branson start today, according to a news release.
Malinen has 29 years of experience as a city manager in rural and suburban developing communities, including White Bear Lake, Minn.; Lincoln and Avenal, Calif.; and Lynnwood and Fife, Wash.
David Mitchem, town manager of Pagosa Springs, Colo., was the second finalist.
“Both candidates spent several days with us and met our directors, city leaders outside the walls of City Hall and the Board of Aldermen in several different settings," Branson Mayor Raeanne Presley said in the release. “Ultimately, the board felt the best fit for the challenges and opportunities facing our community was Bill Malinen."
Malinen succeeds five-year city Administrator Dean Kruithof, who left the post Sept. 6 to relocate to northwest Arkansas after his wife accepted a new job.[[In-content Ad]]
