Westrock Orthodontics moved its Springfield practice March 16 to 2800 S. Fremont Ave. from 1320 E. Kingsley St. after buying out the practice of Dr. Farhad Moshiri in January.
Drs. AnnaKate Tatum and
Mark Dake run the Springfield office, and Westrock comprises 21 offices in Missouri and Arkansas. Tatum said the Springfield clinic offers complimentary orthodontic exams, and specializes in temporomandibular joint disorder treatment. Olivia Heels said the new 3,500 square foot building was designed by Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects, the general contractor was Canyon Construction LLC, and Warren & Goodin Engineers-Architects PC was project engineer. The estimated construction cost was $850,000, according to a city building permit. Westrock employs 160 systemwide, with six full- and two part-time employees in Springfield. Carrie Mitchell opened a south-side eatery March 2 inside Price Cutter at 4228 S. National Ave. The partners operate an English-style mobile food truck and also have a presence at SGF Mobile Food Park. Gomme said London Calling has a three-year lease for undisclosed terms with Price Cutter parent RPCS Inc. that includes use of a 64-square-foot kiosk and the grocer’s commercial kitchen. The company churns out 250 pasties a day, which retail for $6-$7 at London Calling’s three locations. Gomme said the new eatery also sells English-themed merchandise, including tea pots, mugs, salt-and-pepper shakers, and memorabilia from the “Doctor Who” TV series. Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market
Wal-Mart Stores Inc. (NYSE: WMT) opened a Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market on March 16 at 444 W. Grand St., formerly the site of Life 360 Church. Managed by
Marian Kirch, the 42,000-square-foot, $2.6 million store in central Springfield is Wal-Mart’s 13th in the city and the company’s sixth local Neighborhood Market. The retail store features a full-service deli, bakery and produce section with organic foods as well as a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru. The markets also sell health and beauty items and pet and cleaning supplies. The West Grand Street store employs 85 and is hiring another 10 employees. Hours: 6 a.m.–11 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
