Synergy Recovery Center LLC opened a home for women Aug. 17 at 3955 S. FR 223 in Rogersville. Executive Director Paige Tuck said Synergy’s 20-acre campus includes a residence, gym and art studio. She estimated startup costs at $1 million. Staff members working 24/7 provide treatment to adult women recovering from alcohol and substance abuse through individual, group and family counseling, education and physical fitness classes, and art therapy. Tuck, who holds a master’s in counseling from Missouri State University, said all-inclusive costs for a 30-day stay begin at $13,000 for a shared room and $15,000 for a private room. Tuck said it’s currently a self-pay model, but the staff is working toward state approval for accepting insurance. The center, owned by Brad Tuck and Clinical Director Ann Koetting, has partnered for services with pharmacist Ken Lawrence of Lawrence Drug, nutritionist Brandy Hickman of 2BWell and Pilates instructor Diane Nachtigal of Dynamic Body. Party City relocated Aug. 5 to its $1.2 million, 14,000-square-foot store down the street at 2620 S. Campbell Ave. The party supplier has operated in Springfield for 20 years, most recently leasing a shared building with Incredible Pizza Co. at 2840 S. Campbell Ave. Party City franchisee Sok O operates under Y and S Party Inc. Williams Construction built the store, with designs by R.E. Werner Architect LLC. One of 900 stores for Elmsford, N.Y.-based Party City Holdco Inc. (Nasdaq: PRTY), O’s store sells party accessories and holiday-themed products. Assistant Manager Kyle Smith said inventory is at least 30 percent larger. “Customers are able to view more on the floor than in the stock room,” Smith said. Assistant Manager ashares the responsibility of 30 employees, and he said hiring would continue through the holidays. Bedford Camera & Video Inc.
Arkansas-based Bedford Camera & Video Inc. opened June 12 in the former Lawrence Photo & Video store, 2550 S. Campbell Ave. Founded in 1974 by Stan Bedford, the seven-store chain offers digital cameras, high-definition video recorders, specialized prints, photography classes and equipment, such as lenses and flashes. Lawrence Photo owner Fred Terry, 70, liquidated the long-running business in April, citing health issues. Six of Bedford Camera’s seven employees previously worked for Lawrence.
