Mark Ashton LLC opened its second retail store Oct. 16 at 1570 E. Battlefield Road, Ste. D. District Manager Jenny Baker said the women’s fashion retailer, owned by Gina Adams, leases roughly 4,000 square feet in The Galleria for undisclosed terms. Selling women’s clothing, jewelry, accessories, shoes and gifts, Baker said Mark Ashton’s first boutique opened at Branson Landing five years ago. The Springfield store, managed by Courtney Kuehn, has 14 full- and part-time employees selling such brands as Audrey Three Plus One, Lush, Blu Pepper and Flying Tomato. Butcher Plus Baker LLC
Katie Made owner Katie Kring partnered with Aden Watson Feb. 19 to reopen the store as Butcher Plus Baker at 607 S. Pickwick Ave. Watson said the roughly 600-square-foot space leased from Owen Holdings LLC for undisclosed terms now includes a butcher shop alongside Katie Made’s bakery. He estimated renovation costs at under $10,000 for a new counter, display case, smoker and meat slicer. Watson said the butcher shop sells sausage from Seymour’s Circle B Ranch LLC and currently is seeking a local beef producer. Pastries, including those with meat filling, cost $3-$6 each, and house-made sausages and meats cost $8-$16 per pound under the brand A.J. Watson & Sons. Butcher Plus Baker employs three. CMH Women and Children’s Center
Citizens Memorial Health Foundation opened a $3.2 million women’s and children’s health center Nov. 19 at 1195 N. Oakland Ave., Stes. 1-2, in Bolivar. CMH spokeswoman Tamera Heitz-Peek said the 16,300-square-foot clinic – containing Bolivar OB/GYN and Butterfield Park Pediatrics – expands both practices and adds a walk-in clinic with Saturday hours to Butterfield Park Pediatrics. H Design Group LLC served as project architect, and Morelock-Ross Builders Inc. was general contractor. Both practices formerly operated at 1165 N. Butterfield Road. Butterfield Park Pediatrics, managed by Teisha Sutterfield, employs 15, including five physicians, while Bolivar OB/GYN, managed by Debra Volcko, employs 18, including three physicians.
