Banking and Finance
BluCurrent Credit Union promoted Lyndsey Hendrix to assistant manager of its Sunset branch; Hannah McCaig to manager of the Kearney branch; Cindy Singleton to director of member service; and Kyle Wilson to accounting manager.

Guaranty Bank promoted personal banking representative Mitchell Scott to a mortgage lending officer. Scott holds a bachelor’s in kinesiology from Evangel University.

Wood & Huston Bank promoted Scott Haney to community bank president. He is a Southeast Missouri State University graduate with nine years of experience with the bank.

Marty Moore joined Gardner Capital Inc. as chief financial officer to manage finance, accounting and corporate services for all business units. With a bachelor’s in accounting from Abilene Christian University, he has 20 years of senior-level financial and operational experience.

Piatchek & Associates Inc. received the 2016 Better Business Bureau Principles of Trust Award, recognizing three consecutive years without customer complaints.

Consulting
People Centric Consulting Group promoted Diana Day to chief business officer to oversee administrative, financial and operations management. She joined the firm in 2013 as business manager.

Education
The Conservation Federation of Missouri named Gina Wood, MSU’s instructor of childhood education and family studies, as Conservation Educator of the Year for her work with the Discover Nature Teachers Program. Her work helps teachers use the outdoors to teach students.

Sarah Adams Orr and Andrew Hedgpeth were elected to three-year terms on the Ozark School District Board of Education. Orr is a returning member, and Hedgpeth is new to the board.

Southwest Baptist University named Lee Skinkle as provost. With a decade of administrative and teaching experience in higher education, Skinkle holds a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Georgia-Athens, a master’s in divinity and a doctorate in education administration from Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary.

The Higher Learning Commission approved SBU for continued accreditation. The university met commission guidelines and demonstrated a commitment to improvement.

Hospitality
Three of Myer Hotels’ Branson properties – The Comfort Inn and Suites Branson Meadows, Comfort Inn at Thousand Hills and Quality Inn West – were named Platinum Award winners by Choice Hotels International Inc. The hotels are in the top 3 percent of each Choice brand based on guest service evaluations. In addition, The Comfort Inn and Suites Branson Meadows was named the 2015 Comfort Hotel of the Year.

Law
Aimee Morrison
joined Lowther Johnson Attorneys at Law LLC as a general practice attorney. With a law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she’s worked four years as a law clerk in the Jackson County Circuit Court.

Manufacturing
National Enzyme Co. in Forsyth added David Lermy as director of its Gift of Hope program, which provides essentials and supports pathways to independence for Taney County families in need. He has 19 years of experience in customer service and leadership development, most recently directing a nonprofit in Oklahoma.

Marketing
ADsmith Marketing and Advertising added Amy Hietter as account supervisor. She has a bachelor’s in communications from MSU and 12 years of marketing and graphic design experience.

Nonprofit
The Ozark Chamber of Commerce hired Doug Schlottman as the manager of membership and small-business development. He also works with the Carl G. Hefner Enterprise Center, a small-business incubator managed by the chamber.

Brian Grubbs, manager of the Springfield-Greene County Library District’s local history and genealogy department, was named a 2016 Mover and Shaker by the Library Journal. He is one of 54 individuals profiled in the March 15 issue.

The Council of Churches of the Ozarks appointed four new board members: Cheryl Clay of City Utilities and chapter president for NAACP, Carmen Parker-Bradshaw of Mercy Health, Bill Perkin of Perkin Media LLC and the Rev. David Kendrick of St. John’s Episcopal Church. Collin Quigley, Springfield assistant city manager, was reappointed as the council’s board president.  

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks was one of 16 agencies for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America to receive the Gold Standard Award. Selected from 325 agencies nationwide, the award recognizes high achievement and quality outcomes for the children and families served.

Nixa Area Chamber of Commerce named former MSU Bears football head coach Terry Allen as membership development coordinator. He is responsible for member recruitment and retention, as well as managing related special events. He worked nine years at MSU.

Staci Hampton and Katy St. Clair joined I Pour Life. Hampton was named director of LifeStrengths USA serving homeless and at-risk youth. She most recently worked for the Greene County Girls Empowering Minds & Spirits program. St. Clair was named project director and executive assistant at I Pour Life. She previously worked as the hospitality director at Hickory Hills Country Club.

The Arc of the Ozarks promoted Jenny Turner to regional director of Kansas City program services. She has worked for the organization since 2012 as services director for the Renovations program.

Charity Navigator awarded Convoy of Hope a 4-star rating, indicating best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and a focus on fiscal responsibility.

Habitat for Humanity’s MSU campus chapter was selected to receive a $5,000 matching grant from State Farm. The funds are part of the insurance company’s effort to engage youth in Habitat’s home construction and neighborhood revitalization activities.
