Then: Missouri House of Representatives, 140th District
Now: Missouri Senate, 30th District
Bob Dixon has remained on the political scene since his debut in 40 Under 40. In 2009, Dixon was nearing the end of an eight-year run as a Missouri state representative for the 140th District and gearing up for his next gig – state senator. Elected in 2010 and reaffirmed in 2014 by voters of the 30th District, Dixon will hit his Senate term limit next year.
Politics hasn’t always been so kind to Dixon. In 2015, he launched a failed gubernatorial campaign for the governor’s office, reporting nearly $83,000 cash on hand in October before folding the campaign in November after a report surfaced about his teenage years. The past five years, Dixon also has served as an adjunct professor for Drury University and in 2015, became a licensed realtor for Re/Max House of Brokers.
