of KPM CPAs PC completed the certified public accounting examination and earned her CPA license. She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Missouri Society of CPAs.

BKD LLP hired Mark Metzger as a director in the firm’s Enterprise Risk Solutions practice. He has 20 years of combined experience in the public accounting and financial industries.

The Association of Government Accountants named Greene County Auditor Cindy Stein among its top two Distinguished Local Government Leadership Award recipients for 2017. She was elected as Greene County auditor in 1994, is a past president of the AGA local chapter and currently co-chairs the education committee.

received seven regional American Advertising Awards. Gold awards were for Mother’s Brewing Co. packaging, Springfield Regional Economic Partnership’s website and the Youth in Pursuit of Awakening sales kit.

ADsmith Marketing and Advertising hired Allee Mixon as an account coordinator. She has a bachelor’s in professional writing from Missouri State University.

Banking
Mid-Missouri Bank hired Sarah Gutirrez as assistant vice president/assistant bank manager for its south Springfield location. Gutirrez holds a bachelor’s in communications from MSU.

Arvest Bank hired Ron Wegrzyn as a wealth management client adviser at its South Fremont Avenue branch. He most recently worked as a financial adviser for Edward Jones Investments.

OakStar Bank promoted Travis Bybee and Lynn Gideon to community bank president roles. Bybee, in the Urbana market, has 17 years of financial industry experience, and Gideon, who works in Buffalo, has 20 years of banking experience.

Communications
Communications Associates Springfield hired Brad Collison as an account manager for business and industrial sales and public safety sales of mobile communications equipment and systems. He holds a bachelor’s in technical writing and electronics from DeVry University.

Mike O’Brien was selected for induction into the Writers Hall of Fame. He spent over 25 years teaching at MSU and Drury University before retiring in 2013.

Education
Southwest Baptist University assistant accounting professor Wayne Clark received the Miller Management Systems’ Blue Chip award.

Municipal
Springfield Fire Department named Cpt. James Frieze IV as Fire Officer of the Year and Bradley Jones as Firefighter of the Year at its annual awards ceremony.

Nonprofit
Art Inspired Academy
received an honorable mention from The Governor’s Council on Disability. The program of Abilities First provides inclusive creative arts opportunities to children and adults with or without disabilities.

Trucking
Prime Inc. driver Thomas Miller was named 2016 Missouri Driver of the Year by the Missouri Trucking Association. He has worked as a professional driver for 20 years, amassing nearly 3 million miles.
