Banking
Bancsource named Kenneth Laglenne its chief financial officer. He has 25 years of financial experience and most recently worked for Boston-based Zensar Technologies, where he was responsible for over $100 million in services.

Construction
The Builders’ Association added Jason Carson of Carson-Mitchell Inc. as a board member. He is Carson-Mitchell’s chief estimator.

Education
Missouri State University associate professor James Philpot was recognized as 2017 Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Southwestern Finance Association for his efforts in training the next generation of financial advisers. Philpot has served the international group of finance faculty members in several capacities, including as president in 2011.

MSU Board of Governors added Craig Frazier, of Springfield, and Carol Silvey, of West Plains, as new members. Frazier currently is executive vice president of business development for MotoMiner, an Ozark tech firm that developed a portal for finding new and used cars for sale. He’s also a board member of Springfield Innovation Inc. and worked until October 2014 as chief operating officer of HealthMedX. Silvey is associate director for advancement at Community Foundation of the Ozarks’ West Plains office. Frazier succeeds Springfield attorney Joe Carmichael, and Silvey took over for St. James Winery CEO Peter Hofherr on the MSU board.

Alpha House of Springfield promoted Sue Marshall to executive director. She has a master’s in counseling from MSU and has worked 12 years for the benevolent corporation that provides federal offenders with residential re-entry services.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks installed its 2017 board of directors executive committee: Dan Derges, president; Thomas Lane, president-elect; Christopher Weiss, vice president; Alan Perryman, treasurer; Courtney Brown, secretary; and Marshall Kinne, past president.

The Association of Information Technology Professionals of the Ozarks and Biz 417 named Drury University professor Shannon McMurtrey the Security Professional of the Year at the inaugural Excellence in Technology Awards. He joined the Drury faculty in the fall and is spearheading Drury’s Cybersecurity Leadership Certificate Program.

Health Care
Lakeland Behavioral Health System hired Warren Weston as a staff psychiatrist. He worked most recently at Burrell Behavioral Health as a child psychiatrist and in providing telehealth consultations.

Remington Health Strategy Group appointed Tara Chandler-Ferguson, director of strategic initiative for Phoenix Home Care & Hospice Inc., to serve as a leadership advisory member for the nationwide health care organization.

Integrity Home Care and Hospice named Mica Burnett director of marketing and public relations. A licensed vocational nurse with a bachelor’s in communications from Missouri Southern State University, she joined Integrity in 2011 as PR coordinator.

Insurance
EmployeeBenefitAdvisor.com recognized Connell Insurance Inc.’s employee benefits practice leader Thomas Jensen was as one of its top 20 young leaders.

Municipal
The city of Springfield made Darla Morrison its permanent human resources director. A 20-year city employee, she’s served in an interim role since July 2016.

Community Partnership of the Ozarks appointed Shelley Evans and Mary Ann Rojas to its board of directors. Evans is a senior vice president and commercial relationship manager with Guaranty Bank, and Rojas is the city’s director of workforce development.
