The campus formerly home to the School of Professional Psychology at Forest Institute is slated to hit the auction block later this month.
After becoming a subsidiary of Burrell Behavioral Health in summer 2013, Forest Institute was dissolved at the
end of September, and the school closed its 54-acre campus at 2885 W. Battlefield Road.
In the fall, the campus was listed for sale at $5.9 million, which was down from an original listing of $6.4 million in mid-2012. The property carries an office zoning and includes a 43,290-square-foot building and a 24-unit apartment facility, according to
LoopNet.com. It’s located at the intersection of Battlefield Road and Golden Avenue, near Associated Electric Cooperative Inc.
The 2 p.m. March 30 trustee’s sale at the Greene County Courthouse steps calls on the property to be sold to the highest cash bidder, according to a notice published in The Daily Events.
The notice lists a debt load of $1.93 million related to the property.
Springfield law firm Chaney & McCurry co-founder Bruce McCurry, who’s listed as the successor trustee for the property, declined to answer questions related to the sale. Burrell President Todd Schaible could not be reached by deadline.
