Sports Authority to liquidate assets

Rather than reorganize its business as previously planned, Colorado-based sporting goods chain Sports Authority Inc. will liquidate its remaining assets.

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March, when it announced it would close 140 stores nationwide and reorganize.

Bidders are reviewing assets, but there's no guarantee any of the stores will stay open.
