New York-based wireless giant Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ) confirmed to CNNMoney on Thursday it is planning to raise the price of unlimited data plans from $29.99 to $49.99 per month.
The move seems to indicate Verizon wants customers to let go of highly-prized plans that have been grandfathered in.
The company says less than 1 percent of its customers would be affected, and they would see the increase starting on monthly bills that arrive Nov. 15 or later.
