Airlines posted record profits last year

U.S. airlines produced combined profits of $25.6 billion last year, a 241 percent increase from 2014, according to the Department of Transportation.

Low oil prices played a huge role.

Last year, airlines spent nearly $27 billion on fuel, 38 percent less than in 2014.
