Michael Lynton, CEO of Sony’s underperforming entertainment division, is stepping down to focus on Snapchat, where he was an early investor.
During his 13-year tenure at Sony Entertainment, Lynton battled a devastating cyberattack and activist investors.
He's scheduled to step down Feb. 2. Lynton will become board chairman at Snap Inc., the owner of Snapchat.
