Pepsi fills vacant president position

PepsiCo Inc. filled its president role that's been vacant for nearly three years.

Ramon Laguarta, currently head of the company's Europe and sub-Saharan Africa business, is being promoted to the No. 2 position under CEO Indra Nooyi.

The appointment takes effect Sept. 1.
