Yum Brands beats quarterly expectations

Yum Brands, the parent company of Taco Bell, KFC and Pizza Hut, reported quarterly results that topped analysts' expectations.

Adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.61. That was above expectations of $1.60 per share.

Revenue of $2.36 billion was ahead of projections of $2.35 billion.
