Wood & Huston Bank names Springfield community president

Posted online

Marshall-based Wood & Huston Bank named a community president for the Springfield market.

Dave Puckett, a bank employee since 2018 with more than 18 years of community banking experience, was promoted to the role, according to a news release. His LinkedIn profile indicates he started in the role this month after previously working as vice president of commercial lending.

“Dave has had increasing responsibility throughout his career, which includes experience with both retail banking and commercial lending. He is actively involved in many community organizations and has had a positive impact on our customers’ financial lives, our team members and the community," said Mark Thompson, president and CEO of Wood & Huston Bank, in the release. "We know Dave will continue to be an outstanding leader, resource and trusted adviser for our team and customers in the Springfield area.”

Puckett succeeds Scott Haney, who exited the company for undisclosed reasons, said Melisa Grossenburg, vice president of retail banking and user experience for Wood & Huston Bank, via email. Haney's LinkedIn profile, which states he worked as community bank president for Wood & Huston for nearly 16 years, does not list a new job.

Wood & Huston operates in Springfield at 204 W. Primrose St., according to its website.

As of June 30, 2022, Wood & Huston had nearly $70 million in deposits in the Springfield metropolitan statistical area, according to the latest market share report from the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. That's less than 1% of the MSA's market share.
