I will move from online shopping to shopping locally now because of the protection of the masks. I'm not sure why that is not an option.

I will probably shop in town more knowing that face masks are required

I will shop locally more now that face masks are required. Last week I purchased a water hose from Amazon because I did not want to go to a local store where other customers were not wearing face masks.

The mask ordinance makes me feel safe going back to local stores again. I have not been shopping at all because I didn't feel safe. Thursday was the first time I've been to the mall since March and it felt great to spend money locally!

I agree with cokelley22. I will also do more local shopping due to the increased protection from the virus. I've been waiting for this kind of decision so I feel safer to get out in public more.

I will continue to limit my trips to the store for safety reasons, but I do shop locally. It will be more comfortable now that everyone will be masking. Thank you

I will continue to shop online, have my groceries delivered, and only shop in person when absolutely necessary. This is not in response to COVID, or the ruling by the council, this is my families normal behavior since Walmart and HyVee started delivering.

Why such a negative set of questions? Why not allow the obvious answer, Yes, I'm more likely to shop local now that it's safer. I know many people, including myself, with that answer.

I have already started shopping in neighboring towns and places outside the City Limit of Springfield. I made myself aware of where the City Limit is located so I don't have to think about going into a place. Instead of Shopping Hy-Vee for meat, now I go to Harter House. I will continue to do this until mask demand is over.

I wish an option to respond was “Yes, I will shop more now because I feel safer with everyone in a mask.

I feel like this requirement set by the city leaders is a gross government overreach and I will not support the city of Springfield's leaders nor their decision buy shopping locally. If I am going into brick and mortar, I am going outside Springfield. Looks like Nixa makes a lot of sense now!

I know the small reduction my change has on Springfield's tax revenue is small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I also know the sandwich shops and grocery stores probably won't miss my revenue. However, I feel like it is the stand I need to take.

You've either had COVID, or you'll get COVID. You'll either die or be like the 99.6% of cases and recover. It's not going anywhere. Your government cannot keep you safe from a virus. If you are the type of person who lives in fear, stay home. Wear a mask. Convince yourself your safe. Let the rest of us live our lives. This poll proves that local businesses are hurting due to the unnecessary ordinance. Quit letting your ignorance of the facts kill our economy. Springfield could learn from the City of Nixa and their Chamber's response.
