US robot orders surge 40%

Orders for workplace robots in the United States climbed 40% in the first quarter, according to data from the Association for Advancing Automation.

The data indicate roughly 9,000 robots worth an aggregate $544,000 sold during the first three months of the year.

That's up from roughly 6,400 robots worth $346,000 collectively during the same quarter last year.
