Toth and Associates Inc. co-founder Lou Toth is retiring from the engineering company.

Toth, the firm’s director who started the business in 2003 with his son, Adam, is scheduled to retire on May 6, according to a news release. At that time, he'll become director emeritus and assist with special projects. Lou Toth turns 75 on his retirement date.

"When I look at Toth and Associates today, I see a family – a family that tries to put out an excellent work product at a fair price and continually seeks ways to benefit its employees and clients," he said in the release.

Adam Toth, who succeeded his father as president in 2019, is now identified as executive president on the company website.

Lou Toth has worked in the engineering industry for five decades. In 2019, he received the Jim McNabb Engineering Innovation Award from the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives.

Toth and Associates ranked No. 1 last year on SBJ's list of the area's largest engineering firms. The company reported 62 engineers and engineers in training, 55 registered engineers and 135 total staff members for the list published July 11, 2022.

Recent projects by Toth and Associates include the Walker Heights retail center in Nixa, Logan Estates retail center in Rogersville and an expansion to Sullivan Bank in Springfield.
