The Track opens new attraction in Branson

The Track Family Fun Parks tomorrow is scheduled to open its newest attraction. Called Skyscraper, it’s said to move at G-force speeds.

Known for its go-kart tracks in Branson, The Track’s new development was added to the company’s Track 3, 2505 W. 76 Country Blvd., at a cost of $650,000, which included a new sales office, said The Track co-owner and CEO Craig Wescott.

“We find that many of our guests are seeking even more thrills than we currently offer,” Wescott said in a news release. “On Skyscraper, riders will experience the force of four Gs, similar to what a pilot feels flying a fighter jet.”

Standing at 80 feet tall, Skyscraper has windmill-style propeller arms that spin at a maximum speed of 60 miles per hour.

Skyscraper represents the second noticeable change to the Highway 76 strip skyline by The Track since 2016. That year, The Track installed a 150-foot tall, 40-gondola Ferris wheel that previously was in place at Chicago’s Navy Pier. The attraction, including a ticket office and souvenir area, cost around $4 million to install, according to Springfield Business Journal archives.

“The Branson Ferris Wheel is a nice, relaxing ride that offers a beautiful view of Branson and the Ozark Mountains. Although similar in height, Skyscraper will offer an experience that is on the other end of the thrill spectrum,” Wescott said in the release.

Officials with The Track are planning a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremony tomorrow for Skyscraper.

The Track also operates 14 go-kart tracks and other attractions, such as batting cages and mini-golf, according to its website.
