Thai Express sets opening date for new building

After unveiling plans to relocate earlier this year, Thai Express has set an opening date for its new restaurant building.

In a video posted to its Facebook page on Oct. 23, the company announced a grand opening of Nov. 20 at 2113 W. Republic Road.

"It has been such a blessing to have had the opportunity to serve all of Springfield over the last couple of decades and especially the last couple of years," owner Patrick Nett said in the video.

Thai Express, which currently operates at 948 S. Glenstone Ave., is taking over a shuttered Pita Pit building in southwest Springfield, according to past reporting.

Greene County assessor records show the building spans 2,600 square feet.
