Posted online

Southwest Missouri state Rep. Brad Hudson was appointed to the Missouri Tourism Commission.

Hudson, who represents Stone, Christian and Taney counties as a Republican from Cape Fair, joins a commission that oversees the policy and administration of tourism promotion, as well as related job creation, payroll, tax revenue and economic development, according to a news release.

"This is truly an exciting opportunity to work with other members of the commission to help ensure that this vital industry that so many business owners, employees and families depend on continues to thrive,” Hudson said in the release. "To be appointed to any statewide commission is an honor, and for it to be one that dovetails so well with the needs of the district I represent is something I especially appreciate."

Sen. Lincoln Hough, R-Springfield, and Lt. Gov. Mike Kehoe are among the members of the 10-person commission. Other members are Rep. Richard Brown, Sen. John Rizzo, Joe Passanise, Kurt Witzel, Jennifer Blair Dowdney, Jeanette Hernandez Prenger and Scott Hovis.

Hudson's four-year term started June 2.
