Project description: Students at Hillcrest High School will have new classrooms and enhanced fire safety and security when the building’s multiyear, phased update is completed. The project also provides connectivity to the school’s gymnasium and upgrades mechanical systems in the building. Crews demolished a two-story classroom wing to make way for the addition, which includes a performing arts wing. Funding for the project comes from a $168 million school bond issue that passed in April 2018. The Hillcrest renovation project will serve 1,200 students. Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective is the architect and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineer. Additional engineering work is by Toth and Associates Inc., structural, and Anderson Engineering Inc., civil.
