Springfield Fire stations
Nos. 4, 7, 13 and 14
Esterly, Schneider & Associates Inc. is the project architect for four new Springfield Fire Department stations. Officials say the stations were designed to the latest standards and include apparatus bays for fire trucks and other emergency vehicles, living spaces, bunkrooms and fitness rooms for firefighters. They have been designed with primarily brick exteriors to maintain the traditional character of the existing stations. A general contractor has not been selected. Engineering work is by Anderson Engineering Inc.; RTM Construction Inc., mechanical, electrical and plumbing; and BKV Group (Minneapolis, Minnesota), structural; as well as landscape architect frankZdesign. The projects are expected to be complete by June 2021.
