Christian County is among the most charitable counties in Missouri, according to a new report from financial data tracking firm SmartAsset.
It ranked No. 5 and is the only southwest Missouri county in the report’s top 10, according to a news release.
Christian County residents give roughly 1.5% of their income to charitable causes, according to the report. Further, the county has a 5.4% rate of returns itemizing charitable contributions.
Christian County has an overall charitable county index score of 29.39 out of 100. No. 1 on the list is St. Louis County, at 43.25.
Greene County is No. 13 on the SmartAsset list. The county’s contributions as a percentage of income are listed at 1.31%, while percentage of returns itemizing charitable contributions is 4.09%.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
