Minimally Viable Product …
Standard lawn care services: mowing, mulching, gutter cleaning, brush removal, etc.

Problem solving …
The purpose of creating GrassRoots Love is to employ the homeless and give them gainful employment, which in turn will help give them a self-love, self-pride and bring about self-change. We hope to help clean up the streets, help change some lives and help our communities become stronger and beautiful.

Seed money …
One-hundred-fifty dollars from GoFundMe donations, and the rest from my weekly paycheck from full-time work at Arc of the Ozarks.

Hurdles overcome …
Getting started. The registration, licensing, paperwork, funding, etc. The idea was there. The love to make it a reality was there; just had to push and make it happen.

Next phase …
Build a positive name, become a trusted business and help change some lives for the better.

Biggest mistake …
Thinking this would be easy. LOL. I’m also the founder of 417 Day – a day [held every April 17] focused on bringing our entire community together to celebrate unity, friendship, family, community and love.

Best advice …
It’s not going to be a fast or easy process; you will be tested, so gear up for a run.

Greatest need …
Work truck, utility trailer and other equipment (zero turn mowers, string trimmers, blowers, etc.).

Food for thought …
Starting anything from the ground up is difficult. What matters most is the end goal and what you want to see accomplished. From my experience, I wish I was more financially well off, but to accomplish so much with so little, and helping change the lives of others in the process makes it worth it. We are building a company dedicated to helping the homeless from the ground up. In that, we will be battle tested. The end goal and the accomplishment is all that matters. Everything else will fall into place.
