Springfield nonprofit bringing affordable housing to Branson

Life360 Community Services has plans for an affordable housing project in Branson after the recent completion of a similar development in Springfield.

Dubbed Fall Creek Townhomes, the project for 30-40 townhomes has an estimated cost of $5.3 million, said Tammi Creason, who is co-developing the housing. The project is being completed through Branson Affordable Housing Developers LLC, a partnership between Creason and her business partner, Debbie Hart, as well as developers Kendall and Mike Combs, and Mark and Dan Ruda.

“There’s a strong story in Branson on the need for workforce housing,” Creason told Springfield Business Journal. “What can we do to help mom and dad while they are working? How can we engage them in breaking cycles of poverty?"

The project will have supportive services from Life360 and other agencies built into the complex.

Creason said the development is planned north of Fall Creek Road and south of Golf View Drive in Branson.

There likely will be units available starting this summer. Creason said the funding came from the Missouri Housing Development Commission and a Community Development Block grant.

In Springfield, Life360 Community Services in late 2020 opened Y Gardens, a 41-unit apartment complex near Ozarks Technical Community College. It was 100% leased within weeks by low-income families and individuals, as well as youth aging out of the foster care system, said Resident Life Director Rachel Newkirk.

Creason’s Creason Development LLC partnered on the $6.7 million complex in Springfield.
