Springfield Nissan Kia has made a six-figure donation to Ozarks Technical Community College for use by the school's automotive technology program.

A naming ceremony held yesterday showed the Springfield Nissan Kia Engine Performance Lab at the Industry and Transportation Technology Center. The donation amount was not disclosed in a news release.

The funding is earmarked to assist the automotive technology program with staying current with changing technology and assisting students who have barriers that are not related to academics.

“Whether it is in service, parts, sales or auto body, this industry gives individuals the ability to provide for their families and thrive financially. We are happy to support all OTC does to help to spread these opportunities for success,” said John Widiger, Springfield Nissan Kia managing partner, in the release.

Springfield Nissan Kia, located at 3505 S. Campbell Ave., formerly was a Youngblood Auto Group dealership.
