Two U.S. fireworks industry companies are combining through an acquisition.
An affiliate of Springfield-based Ingram Enterprises Inc., dba Fireworks Over America, penned a deal to buy Pyro Spectaculars, based in Rialto, California, according to a news release. Gabrielle Martin, director of marketing for Ingram Enterprises, declined to disclose the financial terms of the deal that closed Sept. 11.
Pyro Spectaculars, which operates fireworks displays, is now under the umbrella of Ingram Enterprises, along with Fireworks Over America, Showtime FX and Opulence Productions LLC, officials say. Ingram Enterprises also operates 21 Fireworks Supermarket stores in multiple states, according to its website.
"Pyro Spectaculars has a tremendous opportunity to expand across all segments of the display industry," said Michael Ingram, president of Ingram Enterprises, in the release. "The pieces are already in place. With the right investment, we believe they can rapidly grow from coast to coast."
The Ingram Enterprises affiliate – the name of which was not disclosed in the release – is buying Pyro Spectaculars from Jim Souza, Gary Souza and Ian Gilfillan, who will stay on as consultants.
"I view this unprecedented opportunity to collaborate with the Ingram family as a game-changer in the display fireworks industry – a chance to move our craft forward through proven showmanship with a keen focus on safety," Gilfillan said in the release. "At the same time, this strategic move ensures the future of the Souza and Gilfillan family's next generation of talented pyrotechnic professionals."
Fireworks Over America has four distribution centers and 22 retail showrooms across the U.S., officials say. Martin said Pyro Spectaculars has over 50 full-time corporate employees and eight production houses along the West Coast. A Pyro Spectaculars branch in the Midwest also is planned.
Pyro Spectaculars also operates in the burgeoning field of multimedia productions through fleets of drones, according to the release.
